October 8 Meeting – Toni McKeen – Using Less Common Documents for Genealogy

The Naugatuck Valley Genealogy Club will meet on Saturday, October 8, at 10:30 a.m. Following a brief business meeting, Toni McKeen will present “Visas, Passports, Alien Registrations, and How to Request Documents.”  After finding the basics (census, immigration, naturalization, and similar common documents), there are several other sources that can help bring new information. This lecture covers these rarely searched for documents, how and where to find them, and the information they can add to your family history.

Ms. McKeen, a resident of Ridgefield, CT, is a popular lecturer at various genealogy societies in the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Boston, and Long Island areas. She is a member of several genealogical organizations and is Chairman of the Genealogy Club of Newtown.

There is no charge for the meeting, which will meet at the Prospect Library if there is enough interest in an in-person meeting. Members will receive also email invitations to the Zoom meeting. Non-members can request an invitation by emailing their full name, address, telephone number and email address to nvgcguestz2020@gmail.com no later than October 6. Space is limited.
