June 8, 2024 Meeting – Toni McKeen – Hart Island: The Island of Lost Souls

Hart Island has been a well-kept secret with restricted access for decades. She will shed light on this potter’s field where over 1 million bodies are buried, give you a timeline of its complex history, and tell why it is of interest to genealogists.

Ms. McKeen, a resident of Ridgefield, CT, is a popular lecturer at various genealogy societies in the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Boston, and Long Island areas. She is a member of several genealogical organizations and is Chairperson of the Genealogy Club of Newtown.

The public is invited and there is no charge for the meeting. Members and guests may attend in-person at the Prospect Library. Also, members will receive Zoom invitations and non-members can request an invitation by emailing their full name, address, telephone number and email address to no later than June 6.
